THE WINES

Philia Winery presents a collection focused on precision, purity, and the raw energy of the island. Each bottle is a chapter of Samos, representing a specific vibration of the landscape—from the sun-drenched granite terraces of Pyrgos to the dizzying heights of Mount Ambelos.

Whether it is the crystalline acidity of our high-altitude whites, the deep texture of our skin-contact oranges, or the rare earthiness of our reds, our goal remains singular: to bottle the true character of the rock. Guided by patience and indigenous yeasts, these are honest maps of our terroir.

ORIENS White Wine Philia Winery, Samos Muscat, Concrete Egg Fermentation, Granite Terroir

ORIENS

Oriens marks the rising sun—a return

to the origins of flavour.

High on the eastern slopes, the vines are bathed in sunlight from dawn to dusk.
As the successor to Livia, this wine

is a study in purity.

Fermented and aged exclusively

in concrete eggs, it breathes through

the microscopic pores of the vessel

to preserve the purest vertical expression of the fruit.

Sharp, crystalline, and mineral, gaining a round, textural mouthfeel.

It strips away the makeup, revealing the raw, unfiltered essence of the Muscat grape: stone fruits, wet rock, and a vibrating energy.

THE SPECS

  • Terroir: Crystalline Gneiss & Schist Soils

  • Vessel: Concrete Ovoid Egg

  • Character: Textural, Pure, Mineral

  • Colour: Bright Pale Gold

VULCANUS Orange Wine Philia Winery, Samos Muscat, Amphora and barrel Fermentation, Volcanic Terroir

VULCANUS

Taking the torch from Hupnos, Vulcanus explores the darker, smokier side of Samos Muscat. With just 7 days of skin contact, this wine acts as a bridge between the white and the orange world. Aged in a combination of barrels and amphorae, it balances the floral character of the grape with the savoury, mineral imprint of the volcanic soil.

It offers the aromatic complexity of an orange wine—dried apricots, smoke, and wet stone—while retaining a vibrant, drinkable freshness.

THE SPECS

  • Terroir: Volcanic Soil (Quartz/Basalt)

  • Maceration: 7 Days on Skins

  • Vessels: Oak Barrel & Amphora finish

  • Colour: Bright Amber / Golden Orange

AMPHORA. Orange Wine Philia Winery, Samos Muscat, Amphora Fermentation, Basalt Terroir

AMPHORA

The direct descendant of Phi Amphora.

This is not just wine; it is liquid earth. Harvested

from our highest vineyard ("The Zenith") at a staggering 980 meters, the grapes undergo a fierce 30-day extraction in clay amphorae.

This extended contact with the skins transforms the aromatic Muscat into a wine of structure and tannic grip. It captures the wild herbs, the resin, and the raw power of the mountain peak. A wine for the patient and the brave.

THE SPECS

  • Terroir: Volcanic Quartz, 980m Altitude

  • Method: 30 Days on Skins (Zero additives)

  • Vessel: Clay Amphora

  • Colour: Deep Amber / Copper, light haze

OMNIS. White Wine Blend Philia Winery, Samos Muscat, Concrete Egg Fermentation, Granite Terroir

OMNIS

Omnis means "All". The evolution of Octave, this wine is the holographic image of Samos. It is a masterful blend

of our three distinct terroirs: the high-altitude freshness of Ambelos (980m), the warm Crystalline Gneiss depth of Pyrgos (400m), and the smoky energy of the volcanic ravine. It strikes a perfect balance, weaving the floral intensity of the Muscat with a saline, mineral backbone. It is not just a wine from one place; it is the taste of the entire island in a single glass.

THE SPECS

  • Terroir: Blend of 3 Vineyards (Schist, Crystalline Gneiss, Volcanic)

  • Vinification: Stainless Steel & Amphora Blend

  • Character: Complex, Crystalline, Saline

  • Colour: Brilliant Straw Yellow

FOKIANO. Red Wine Philia Winery, Samos Fokiano, barrel Fermentation, Granite Terroir

FOKIANO

The untold story of the Aegean. Fokiano is a grape often forgotten, surviving on the edges of the island's history. We have brought it to the centre stage. Vinified with a light touch and aged in old barrels to soften its rustic edges without masking its fruit, this wine is a revelation. It is not heavy; it is vibrating with energy. It offers aromas of wild sour cherry, pomegranate, and dried herbs—a true "gastronomic" red that demands food and conversation.

THE SPECS

  • Variety: Fokiano 100% (Indigenous)

  • Terroir: Mountain Terraces

  • Ageing: Old Oak Barrels

  • Colour: Vibrant Ruby Red

AUGUSTUS. Red Wine Philia Winery, Samos Avgoustiatis, barrel Fermentation, Granite Terroir

AUGUSTUS

Honouring the legacy of Auguste. Samos is world-famous for its whites, but its red secret is Avgoustiatis—a rare variety that we have rescued and elevated. This wine is

the velvet glove of Philia. Aged in oak barrels to tame its wild nature, Augustus offers a deep, complex character.

It balances the structure of a serious red with the island's spicy, herbal freshness. Think of sour cherry, leather, and the scent of the Mediterranean summer.

THE SPECS

  • Variety: Avgoustiatis 100%

  • Vinification: Barrel Fermentation & Ageing

  • Character: Velvety, Spicy, Earthy

  • Colour: Deep Ruby Red
