A Gold Award for the Island of Muscat
Samos Island is frequently awarded for its light, turquoise waters and its endless summer. And rightly so. But for us at Philia Winery, the true heart of the island doesn't beat on the sand. It beats high up on the mountain mass of Karvounis, where the wind is cool, and stone dominates the landscape.
We don't just invite you to drink a glass of wine. We invite you to get your shoes dusty and take a seat at our table.

The Vineyard Tour: Walking Through History
The experience begins where it all starts: in the vineyard. I invite you to walk with me along the stone terraces (pezoules) of vineyards. To see firsthand what "heroic viticulture" truly means. To touch the schist and quartz, to smell the wild thyme growing between the vines, and to understand why our vines struggle to produce such concentrated fruit. This is not simply a nature walk. It is a lesson in history and agronomy, under the shadow of the mountain.
The Taste of Stone
Returning to the winery, theory turns into practice. Here, we will taste Philia's wines right next to the tanks and barrels where they were born. We will explore how the terroir translates into minerality and how the Samian sun transforms into complexity. It is an honest-tasting, no-secrets, directly from the producer.

The Kitchen Lab: When the Winemaker Cooks
This is where the Philia experience sets itself apart. As a Winemaker and Chef, I believe that wine without food is only half the story. In our Kitchen Lab, I take off my winemaker's boots and put on my chef's apron. I prepare a menu for you based exclusively on what the Samian land offers us that day. Wild greens, local cheeses, fresh seasonal ingredients. This is not a restaurant. It is my home table. I cook in front of you, explain the pairings, and we share food and wine like old friends at a symposium.
